To qualify for the SPSF Pulaski Scholarship, you must be:

  1. A single parent. For purposes of our program, a “single parent” is defined as:
    • Single-never married, widow/widower, divorced, or
    • Legally separated (must provide a court-filed document showing separate maintenance), or
    • In the process of divorce with the expectation that it will be final by the time the award is made, or
    • Functioning as a custodial single parent for a child that is not the applicant’s biological child (will be asked to explain the custody arrangement)
    • May live with a family member or roommate, but not in a partnering or co-parenting situation with the roommate (will be asked to explain the situation).
  2. Must be a resident of Pulaski County. (If you do not live in Pulaski County and you are interested in affiliates associated with other counties – please visit the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship Fund Website)
  3. Must be the primary custodial parent of at least one child under the age of 18 (or enrolled in grades k-12) at the start of the academic year and caring for the child(ren) without the assistance of another parent in the home. Exceptions may be granted if the dependent child is disabled.
  4. Part-time Scholarship: must be enrolled in a minimum of 6 credit hours and already have earned 30 or more hours to be eligible for a part-time scholarship. Part-time students will be funded for a maximum of 8 years.
  5. Full-time scholarship: must take a minimum of 12 credit hours to be eligible for a full-time scholarship unless in an approved full-time nursing program where they are in good standing.
  6. Must have a cumulative GPA of 2.5.
  7. Must not already hold a Bachelor’s degree. Applicants who hold a professional certification or an associate’s degree will only be considered eligible if they are pursuing a degree at the next level.
  8. Must be eligible to receive a Federal Pell Grant.
  9. Applicants must be living at or near the poverty level (within 200% of Federal Poverty Guidelines) and submit proof of financial need (most recent federal tax return).
  10. Applicants must attend one of our partner schools.
